Intro Competitive
Our Intro Comp Program
Toronto Artistic Swimming’s Intro Comp program is designed as a soft entry to the Competitive program for younger and less experienced swimmers.
It is ideal for the swimmer aged 11 and younger (born in 2012 or later), who is looking for a challenge and wishes to compete on a limited basis. Swimmers DO NOT NEED artistic swimming experience, just a zest for learning and good swimming skills. By training 2x weekly – approximately 4 hours total per week – swimmers will develop artistic swimming skills quickly, bond as a team, and learn to compete by participating in at least 2 meets!
Swimmers begin the season in Ontario Artistic Swimming’s Regional League, where they will train to compete at the first meet of the season (Jan or Feb). Depending on coach recommendation, teams MAY transition to Ontario Artistic Swimming’s Provincial League for the balance of the season (March-June). This would allow for greater opportunities for competition (an extra 1-2 competitions) and more chances to bond with the other Provincial competitive athletes. Swimmers would still train 2x weekly according the same schedule as previously, but each of those practices may be extended, and there could be some occasional extra practices just prior to competitions. As such, this would involve a modest additional cost to cover the extra coaching, pool, etc.
Space will be very limited!
