Our Coaches

What we believe

Our coaches’ goal is to maximize each swimmer’s individual potential — as athletes, as teammates and as leaders. They are motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated to the sport, their swimmers and our club.

Our coaches are also great role models: They embody artistic swimming as a lifelong sport. Many of them continue to train and compete at provincial, university or international masters levels. TASC is unique in that most of our Competitive and Regional League coaches grew up within our club as swimmers. Their dedication to the sport and to our community provides great role-modelling for all swimmers.

Haley Grennell

HP/OAS Lead Coach

Comp Intro, Comp Dev

In her fourth year in a supervisory position, Haley brings a wealth of experience to the Leadership Team. For 2025-26, Haley is a co-coach of the Junior Gold Team, the 11/12 Blue Team, and several extra routines. Haley has many year’s of coaching experience at Provincial, National and Regional League levels. A former long-time TASC swimmer from youth to the end of high school, then swimming with U of T’s Varsity team, Haley is also part of TASC’s Masters team this season.

Off deck, Haley is a graduate of TMU in Communications and currently studies education at the University of Toronto.

Emma Colson

Rec Coordinator and Leadership Team Communications Lead

Once again, Emma is the driving force and the go-to person for coaches and parents in our large and complex Rec program. Emma is also the communications and logistics lead for the Leadership team. Her stellar communication skills and organizational skills ensure that all programs run smoothly. Emma also sometimes coaches in our Rec program. She swam in our Competitive program from childhood throughout high school, and later on the Queen’s University synchro team.

Off deck, Emma is a graduate of Queen’s University and works as a Talent Management Specialist in Human Resources at Sunnybrook Hospital.

Aysia Tse

12 and Under Lead Coach

Comp Intro, Comp Dev

Through 16 years of Provincial and National level artistic swimming and over 8 years of coaching, Aysia brings a wealth of both technical knowledge and artistry to her role as 12 and under Lead Coach. Aysia also has a creative flair which helps to facilitate choreography for all routines. Aysia began her artistic swimming career at TASC and still swims on our Masters team. In addition to being Lead Coach, Aysia also co-coaches the 11/12 Red team, the 13-15 Lime team and several extra routines.

Off deck, Aysia is completing an Art and Design degree from OCAD and currently works for community arts organizations.

Kelly Thurlow

13 and Older Lead Coach

Comp Intro, Comp Dev

Kelly has been swimming for over 20 years, mostly at Waterloo, and more recently at TASC as a Masters swimmer. She also has over 11 years of coaching experience – with Waterloo, U of T and TASC. As 13 and over Lead Coach, Kelly oversees all of our 13+ Competitive and Regional League teams, including our athletes who compete nationally. Kelly is also co-coaching our Junior Gold Team, our 10 and under Purple Team as well as several extra routines that compete both Provincially and Nationally. Kelly’s deep technical knowledge is a great asset for our older swimmers.

Off deck, Kelly has a Bachelors in Exercise Science and a Masters in Physiotherapy and currently works as a physiotherapist in Toronto.
