Volunteering & Fundraising

About Volunteering

The strength of the Toronto Artistic Swimming Club lies in part with parent/guardian and swimmer involvement. The club is a not-for profit organization run by a volunteer parent Board and relies heavily on contributions of volunteer time. All families in Competitive and Novice, as well all Masters Competitive swimmers, are required to volunteer in some capacity over the course of the season to help operate the club and will be required to volunteer at any club-host meet (minimum number of shifts will be decided by the meet organizing committee).

There are different expectations in the various programs, roughly equivalent to the number of training hours. Competitive families are expected to be the most involved and take on most volunteer roles. Masters and Novice competitive seasonal volunteering is more limited.

Families/Masters swimmers can choose to opt-out and pay the relevant volunteer commitment fee for their program. The goal, though, is for everyone to take some responsibility towards smooth functioning of the club.

Fundraising

Toronto Artistic Swimming members all contribute to the club by fundraising. Our major campaigns include a baked-goods fundraiser with Don’s Bakery of Muskoka and flower bulb and seed sales with Veseys’ Flowers & Bulbs. We are always looking for contributions to our silent auction, held in December with our winter watershow.

You can also help the club every time you shop online by using FlipGive! It costs you nothing. Online retailers donate a portion of sales back to the club when you shop. Get FlipGive.
